A Note on the MSc Admission Exam for the MSc and PhD Programs in Biomedical Engineering and Systems at Cairo University

Exam outline:

The exam includes questions on different topics typically covered in biomedical engineering curricula:

A. Mathematics

B. Physics

C. Chemistry

D. Biology, Anatomy, and Physiology

E. Circuits, Electronics, and Measurement

F. Signals, Systems and Control

G. Fields and Waves

H. Computer Systems

I. Medical Equipment

J. Clinical Engineering

K. Probability and Statistics

L. Mechanics

M. Programming

N. Technical Writing

• There should be questions in the exam on each of these topics. Most of the questions have short answers and are focused on central concepts, techniques, or applications.

• You can prepare for the exam by studying from few exam preparation books uploaded here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1wnHdZs9DKYDjWUVy74IAPMC8pvK9T2Kc?usp=sharing

– First, study the following topics and chapters from the 2006 FE Review Manual: Rapid Preparation for the General Fundamentals of Engineering Exam by Michael R. Lindeburg:

Topic I Units and Fundamental Constants (Chapters 1 and 2)

Topic II Conversion Factors (Chapter 3)

Topic III Mathematics (Chapters 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9)

Topic IV Statics (Chapters 10, 12, and 13)

Topic V Dynamics (Chapters 14, 15, 16, and 17)

Topic XII Chemistry (Chapters 37, 38, and 39)

Topic XIV Electric Circuits (Chapters 43, 44, 45 and 46)

– Also, check the following chapters of the 1001 Solved Engineering Fundamentals Problems (2005) by Michael R. Lindeburg: Chapters 1, 3, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 16.
